Founder's Day WeekendThe first weekend in August is a significant historical milestone in the life of Ocean Park. (The Temple was dedicated on August 2, 1881.) Join us for special commemorative activities throughout the weekend. Download Program of Events (PDF) Thursday, August 2 7:30 pm“Historical Women of Ocean Park” reenactment in Jordan Hall with Sally Huot. Suggested donation: $5. Friday, August 3 7:30 pm“Love Letters” performance in the Temple. Vincent and Charlotte deGregoris perform A. R. Gurney’s beloved play. Tickets: $10. Saturday, August 4 9:15 pmThe Dunlap Highland Band in the Square. We welcome back this 20- member band of pipers and drummers who, in the last several years, have played to large and enthusiastic audiences on Illumination Night. Under the direction of Pipe Major George Pulkkinen and Drum Major Alden Hudson, and based in York County, the band has both adult and youth members. The performance, in the Square in front of Jakeman Hall, will begin after the light viewing at about 9:00 pm. No Admission fee! Sunday, August 5 11:15 amDedication of the Temple Garden at Temple Ave. and Royal St. All are welcome. 7:30 pm The Ocean Park Music Festival in the Temple. Concert 5: “A Summer’s Gallimaufry: Musical Magic with Friends and Family” featuring the Temple Choir and guest soloists, devised and directed by Stewart Shuster and William Fred Scott.
