SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENTWorship and Bible StudyFor many, the Sunday Morning Service in The Temple is the highlight of the Ocean Park week. Glorious music provided by the Temple Choir, the Bell Choir, and the Temple Brass, great congregational singing, and thoughtful, inspiring sermons by guest preachers from a variety of denominations combine to make these services uniquely moving events. This summer’s series begins on Sunday, June 26 at 10:00 am and continues each Sunday through September 4. Parents are invited to make use of the Nursery for pre-school children during the Temple worship service each Sunday, from 9:45 to 11:15 am. The Nursery is located in Jordan Hall, where experienced adult supervision is provided. Sunday School is provided for children in kindergarten through grade six in Jordan Hall each Sunday from 9:45 to 11:15 am. Children are also welcomed to sit with their families in Temple worship services. For them, Temple Tote Bags are provided and may be obtained at the main entrance. In the Totes are quiet activities with a Christian theme. Four of this summer’s preachers will also offer Morning Watch discussions in Porter Hall, 9:00-10:30 am: Michael Harvey, July 5-8; Scott Campbell, July 11-12; Ruth Merriam, July 25-26; and Gary Miller August 22-23. See the Daily Calendar entries for details. Give your inner self a time out to meditate and be part of a unique Evensong Service on Sunday evening, July 24, at 7:30 pm. The Temple Choir will present a special contemplative service of poetry, readings, choral and instrumental music. The Oceanwood Camp at the end of Royal Street offers Celebrate at Oceanwood, a staff-led musical worship service, every Sunday evening at 7:30 pm in Lawton Lodge. All are welcome–just follow the music! Guest Preachers 2011download PDF of Guest Preacher Schedule
