Pre-Fourth Events on July 3rd

So You Want To Be A Clown

9:00 am to 12:00 pm “So You Want to Be A Clown” Workshop in the Rec Hall. Come for a workshop on clown make up, costume, and funny business, just in time for the Fourth of July parade. Pre-registration at the Ocean Park Association office, $10.00/$12.00 at the door. Bring any wigs, hats, or clothes to use or share. We will have some extra outfits and face paint to try. Leader: “Daisy,” aka Marjorie Belanger.

The Twenty-First Annual Family Sand
Sculpture Competition

3:00 - 5 pm on the beach between Randall and Ancona Avenues. Contest Theme: “Pirates of Ocean Park.” A flyer with additional information and rules for the competition is available at the Ocean Park Office after Memorial Day or at the site on the day of the competition. You must register in order to be a part of the competition. Judges will announce the winners at 4:45 pm on the beach, followed by a beach concert with David Peloqiun, Singing Pirate, for little pirates and their parents. Winners will also be recognized at the Band Concert on July 4th.

Winners 2006

5th place: from Los Altos Hills, California, the Robles and Warren families with
"Mosquito: The State Bird of Ocean Park".

4th Place: the Hudson and Briginshaw families of Ocean Park with
"One More Scoop".

3rd Place: the Ryan, Carlson, Chapman, Painchaud, Johnston, Syr, and Baker families of Ocean Park with "Ocean Park Memories". (This group won the competition 30 years ago.)

2nd place: the Chiklakis family of Ocean Park with
"Fish Man".

1st place: the Skelton family of Ocean Park with
"History of Ocean Park"
